So I didn’t realize until I looked back at the gap between posts that I had finished 10 books without posting about any of them! I mean, a good majority of the books I’ve finished this year were children’s fantasy books to be honest. Is that cheating? Most of these were on my ‘To Read” list for years after I fell out of the habit of reading, so I had to return to some series from my childhood and finish up the loose ends. It’s what I do: I’m a book finisher.
I finally reached the end of the Septimus Heap series this year, which I learned along the way has 7 books, not just the 5 my brother owns (all in all there’s: Magyk, Flyte, Physik, Queste, Syren, Darke, and Fyre). I may post about each individually, but that’s a little down the line once I borrow the first 5 again or buy them for myself.

They all have these beautifully vibrant colors and golden titles. Just the appearance of these books is enough to make you want the full set. They just look magically awesome on a bookshelf with all of them there.
I also finished The Land of Elyon books – short and simple, but still a special part of my childhood. I’m gifting these to my 5 year old sister for Christmas, and I know she’ll love them as much as I did as a girl.

And I started The Secret Series, which I always wanted to read but never got around to it.

I took this year to ease myself back into reading regularly, and finish up some old favorites. To continue to pursue reading and delve deeper into the written world, I’m taking on the thiccc classics now and making real big person reading goals for next year! 🙂
